Nixon Rubber PlayerNov 26, 2010
By surf_skate Let's start with the pros:
Extremely comfortable- I wear this watch almost every single day. It is actually very easy to not even notice you're wearing it.
Strap Buckle- Nixon, on all their watches, has a very neat and practical strap fastener. Unlike on a regular watch, with a loop-like thing to hold the strap down and in place, this one has a snug and useful fastener. This is sort of hard to explain, but take my word for it; rest assured, your strap will not hang off the watch while you wear the watch.
Waterproof- This watch, can be submersed in water without breaking. I surf the east coast of Virginia, and always take my watch with me. No worries about rust or too much weight on your arm.
Unlike metal watches, this will not freeze or burn your hand under extremely hot/cold conditions. This was not as much a factor for me because I live in relatively warm conditions, but it's still a nice bonus.
Cool looking- I cannot tell how many people have complimented me on my watch at school. It's got a very nice look to it, very different from any other gold or silver watch. And hey, who doesn't like diamonds! :)
Now for the cons:
Gets dirty easily- This thing picks up dirt and lint like crazy. If you're writing on paper with a pencil (and you're a lefty like me and smear everything you write) then this will pick up graphite. This isn't really too much of a con though because cleaning this watch is SUPER EASY. Just wear it in the shower, and voila! Good as new.
Scratches- Because the glass centerpiece is slightly elevated over the rubber, the glass WILL scratch if not careful. My watch has many, many scratches on the glass because of carelessness and clumsiness. The glass is pretty strong though, so it is more difficult for scratches to become apparent. It would take something like falling over on your arm for scratches to become really noticeable.
No numbers- With a lack of numbers, it isn't exactly easy to tell time, at least on the minute. Especially around the corners. You get used to it though, it adds to the watch's amazing look :)
Overall, this is an incredibly sweet watch. The price is a little high (mine was retail) but I feel it was well worth it. You'll get compliments, trust me. If you're looking for a waterproof watch, or one to take in extreme heat or cold, this is it. If the price seems a bit high to you, but still want the rubber look, I would check Nixon's time teller watch out. Hope this review helps! :)

This watch doenst have to come off when you go snowboardingMar 03, 2010

The Rubber Player is comfortable and perfect for someone who is athletic. If you don't want your watch sliding up and down your wrist while being active, this is the watch for you. It stays in place when I snowboard and because it's rubber, it doesn't get cold and freeze my wrist. I bought it for the above reasons and I can't complain.

By T. Stoltz It is as expected. Two concerns: if band breaks I think you just throw it away and crystal scratched in about 20 minutes of wear. I've had a Seiko Monster for 8 years and it has less scratches than this has after 3 days.

Great Modern Watch- I want every colorOct 15, 2010
By Bling-a-zing I tried this watch on today and it feels so good on your wrist. It is heavy and durable as hell. I went with the gunship version because it will go with most anything I wear, even a black on black suit. I guess you would say this watch is fun and can offset your look the way a cool pair of kicks can.
